Your Local Yarn Store. Loopine Wool Co is a hub for a vibrant community of knitters, crocheters and crafty folk here in Auckland with twice-weekly craft groups that have been running consistently for more than 5 years. We are pleased to carry and promote locally hand-dyed yarns, as well as NZ indie-designed patterns at our shop. In addition, we have been bringing several of our favourite international brands into New Zealand, so the community here can enjoy a variety of different fibres and yarns from around the world. We are lovers of wool and natural fibres, and we carry quality yarns that are meant to last, so you can create with your hands heirloom pieces that stand the test of time. A sense of community is an important part of what knitting is all about, and when we can find spaces to gather and share our ideas and projects- friendships, collaborations and wonderful new creations emerge. The team at Loopine are dedicated to continuing to provide a space like this, and do our part to foster the fibre arts in our community. Alanna Penk. Shop Owner & Pattern Designer. I personally have been a keen maker my whole life, and learned to knit when I was quite young. I was thrilled to discover I could create a living out of what was previously just an obsessive hobby. I am a knitting pattern designer (Black Cat Knitting Company) and a fibre arts enthusiast. I knit nearly every day, and spin on the side. I love working with wool and promoting it's incredible and beneficial properties. I'm pleased to have the chance to spend my "day job" in this creative field, and my hope for the shop is that we are not only selling to, but enhancing the local fibre arts community through our groups and activities, and encouraging hand-making and natural fibresWiebke Truebner.
