Near new Forster Benchrest full length sizing 2 die set for .270 Winchester Short Magnum calibre. Comprising two dies: a full length sizer die and a seater die. This ingenious maker places the neck expander ball well up the decapping rod stem (see the third photo where this expander is shown beside the aluminium locking ring). The effect of this placement is noticeable when the sized case is extracted from the die. With conventional dies, the handloader will feel two distinct areas where friction needs to be overcome. With the Forster dies carefully adjusted, the extraction process seems to have just one area of resistance. The reason is that with the expander ball right below the case neck in Forster dies, the top of the neck is still supported in the die as the expander ball begins to do its job when extraction initiates. This means virtually no chance of re-stretching the case during this process. Their seater dies too are better designed than most other makes resulting in less run-out on the loaded cartridge.
